much-needed sunshine

Something happens to me in the winter and I have to leave this godforsaken place we live in for awhile.  My husband says it's an addiction; I say, I live in the northernmost contingent state of the U.S. and I need some freaking Vitamin D.  So we took a quick trip down to Puerto Vallarta, Mexico.  It was gorgeous there.  Not that we saw much of it... but the beach and the mountains were beautiful.  We didn't do anything really, which was perfect.  We left early on Thursday morning and got home really early Tuesday morning.  So we were basically there for three whole days, with a couple days of traveling on either end.  Not long enough... well, long enough when you're away from your baby, but not long enough to get sick of being on vacation.  We sat out by the pool or the beach all day.  I read five books and ate heaps of guacamole.  Ahhh.

I borrowed my parents' point and shoot camera (a Canon SD800) because my little camera sucks.  After going through the pictures, I'd say 80% of them are of sunsets, 10% of them are Tom and I holding the camera out and taking a picture of our heads, and the other 10% are of sitting by the pool or eating guacamole.  We're a thrill-a-minute on vacation.  Here's a few pictures, anyway:

But happy to get home and see Max!

Max stayed with my parents and it sounds like they had a great time.  We checked our email every day to see if 'Max' sent us an email, which he did, about three times a day, including pictures and video. :)  We were sure he'd start crawling while we were away, but luckily we didn't miss it.   I figured that since I'm always a bit too lazy to upload any of my home movies here, I'd post the ones my parents sent.  The first one is Max sledding on their driveway, and the other is his latest method of getting around.
